A rare prehistoric shark, the Deep Sea Frill Shark (Chlamydoselachus anguineus), was recently filmed off the coast of Japan. The Frilled Shark usually inhabits deep waters between 400 and 4200 feet and is referred to as a ‘living fossil’, because it has changed so little over time.
